  • Did you close and restart your browser? Deactivate WP-Cache?

I recommend that you try again. You are on the right track, but all it takes is a glitch in the uploading files to ruin the whole cake.

Internet Explorer 6 and before had problems with margins and padding around containers. It’s called the internet explorer 3 pixel jog in the industry. This is a browser design issue and you will find lots of CSS help on the web to guide you in creating an IE6 specific stylesheet for those using that browser on your site.

There are lots of articles about how to do this on web design sites. It’s a CSS web design feature.

This is actually done a lot. There are a number of tutorials around the web to help you. Look for help on “magazine style themes” and multimedia WordPress Themes to help you look at different options.

Any of these will work, but use the one that works best for your needs.

Consider using a WordPress Plugin that works with recent posts. Customizable Post Listings is one, and there are others you can try.

Yes, it should apply. The ID numbers are in the links on the Edit > Pages panel.

When you bump a post, we think you have gotten a response. Please don’t do that.

It sounds like you want to setup a site map or table of contents type of page. There are many Plugin options that help you do that. Have you searched through the Plugin Directory with those keywords?

Also, considering asking the Theme developers for help on this, since they are the supplier of your Themes.

On the Categories Panel, hover the mouse over the category name link and you will see the link address in your browser’s status bar (turn it on under View) or click the link. The last numbers in the link address is your category ID number.

It used to be clearly numbered in past versions of WordPress, but in current versions, it isn’t. That’s how you find it.

Is it saying you are someone you are not, or maybe you are logged in under someone else’s user name?

To change the post author, go to the Post Author section on the Write Post Panel/Add New Post of the post you need to change the author on, and switch to your name in the list.

If your name isn’t in the list, then make sure you are set as the administrator.

You set the “name” under which your posts are published in your User Profile Panel.

The first rule of this forum is “no bumping” so take care with this. I looked and saw five replies and assumed you were getting help already, so I didn’t check this post.

    Here are some possibilities.

First, switch to a different Theme, like the Default Theme, and see if this still is a problem. If it is, then copy the WordPress Loop area of the code and replace it within your Theme where it matches. That will fix any code problems you are having with the Theme.

If the switch still shows two posts on the front page, then go to your Settings and check to see how many posts are set to show on the front page of your blog. Change the number and save it. Does it change?

Lastly, if these don’t work, are you using an Plugins that impact how your posts are displayed and where on your blog. If so, disable them or upgrade them.

With the information you bring back if it doesn’t work, we might be able to help you more.

If a sidebar widget allows customization of its title, then you are allowed to edit it on the Appearance > Widgets panel. If it doesn’t, then you can’t, unless you manually edit the code on the sidebar template files where that sidebar content appears within your WordPress Theme.

No. Currently, unless you can find a Plugin to replace the task, you must edit the WordPress Theme template and put in the parameters that will restrict what the wp-list-pages() template tag will display.

Did you reload/refresh your browser after updating? Are you using a WordPress Plugin that integrates into the Administration Panels? Have you turned it off to see if it makes a change?

Without more information to reproduce your problem, it’s hard to give you a straight answer.

Did you report this on the WordPress.com forum? We don’t answer WordPress.com issues on this forum.

Your questions pertain specifically to WordPress.com, which announced WordPress 2.7 arriving on WordPress.com many times over the past couple months. Problems with WordPress 2.7 are fixed immediately on WordPress.com, and then added to the upcoming update release. Check the WordPress.com blog for news on what is happening.

We need more information to offer any help. Did you change your WordPress Theme? Which Plugins are you using? Did you upgrade recently?

Try changing your WordPress Theme from the default Theme and see if the problems continue. If they do, then something has been changed in the default Theme. Consider upgrading or using a different Theme, something your users might appreciate as the default Theme isn’t very complementary to your content and subject matter.
