In reply to: Cannot access dashboard but I can access my siteTypically WordPress smart enough to realize the plugin already exists so I’m going to guess that’s not the issue. What happened/when did you notice and what error messages have you seen.

In reply to: Registration and lost password emails aren't being sentOkay – but are the emails from the same provider? If you don’t test by turning off the plugins then the next level is too look for patterns with the email addys of the users. Maybe blacklisted email servers.

In reply to: Registration and lost password emails aren't being sentThoughts. It could be one of those plugins but it could also be the user’s email address. What have you done to check either of these?

In reply to: pages by category view like blog posts?Do you mean you want the ability to comment on a category archive page? It’s not a part of the core coding. I found a few posts here in the forums that mention how to do it but they old posts – years old.

In reply to: Security Review Process>> How big of an issue is this?
I have no hard data to offer on this. What I have is anecdotal and largely comes from the discussions I have offline at conferences, meetings, and informal gatherings. My peers are the most vocal about this topic. Some clients occasionally mention it. People that I have no connection with are the 2nd most vocal about it.
@helen – thank you for the link.

In reply to: Security Review ProcessWhatever it’s called it needs to:
- Acknowledge there IS a security team
- Identify the team’s objectives

- Identify Reactive process/tasks

In reply to: Security Review ProcessThat certainly helps but something coming from the WordPress team itself provides clear evidence of a commitment by the team to security – rather than implying it by having others speak about how secure WordPress is. Sort of like guessing if Hillary Clinton will run for president or not. She hasn’t said but everyone seems to think she will – there’s that bit of doubt that nags at people. Why not erase it? A simple one pager as I described shouldn’t be all that difficult to create.
BTW – the Hillary reference was just for an example and not my endorsement. 😉

In reply to: Security Review ProcessThat’s a good question. But having it is better than not having it and I know there will be people like me referring people to it – especially when people are spreading rumors and lies.
It could be linked to or even a part of the Security Category Archive on the blog: http://wordpress.org/news/category/security/
