Never mind. It turns out, after days of searching the net, I had overlooked an option in the General tab.
“Users must be registered and logged in to comment” was turned on.
Now everything works as it should, though I feel a bit stupid.. :p
Never mind, I found a way around it here.
A bit unnecessarily hard, but I couldn’t make it work any other way.
