Yeah… so slowly figuring this out. All my config.php file info looks fine, so no idea what the problem is NOW. Ugh.
Error page I get when I load install.php:
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
* Are you sure you have the correct username and password? <i>Yes</i>
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname? <i>still the default, I didn’t change it the 1st time so I didn’t change it now</i>
* Are you sure that the database server is running? <i>yes</i>If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

In reply to: Reinstalling and getting a Blank screen at install.phpunfortunatly, again, I’m an idiot who knows NOTHING about how MySQL & databases work, and when I initally had errors reuploading everything, I thought I had to recreate the database as well, so the old one’s been dropped. I’m essentially starting from scratch, and it’s not installing like it did the first time.
So I guess what I’m asking is, if the wp folder and the database are both gone, should I be having issues reinstalling? or is there something else I need to do to wipe it clean? I was only a day into my blog so it’s not an issue to just reupload everything, at least once I get through the actual install process.
