In reply to: [Emphasize] Twenty sixteen custom page templateI sent a reply yesterday, Michael, but it doesn’t seem to have registered. I’m so sorry.
Thank you very much – I hadn’t activated the child theme. I shall know better next time.
I’m very grateful for your help.

In reply to: [Emphasize] Twenty sixteen custom page templateThank you very much for replying so quickly, Michael, especially as my post is in the wrong forum (I have not requested help before). I think I copied code from a reply from you in someone else’s request for help!
Yes, Appearance > Themes shows the Twenty Sixteen theme as active. This is the first time I have created a child theme, so thought that might be the problem. The full-width-page.php file is in a folder named twentysixteen-child, which seems to be the right name.
Oddly, if I remove the ‘@media screen…’ code from the parent style.css, the template remains, but but I must leave the full-page-width.php file in the parent theme folder, otherwise the template disappears.
This is the code for the functions.php file that is the only other file for the child theme:

Again, thank you very much for your help.
Should I repost this query now in the Twenty Sixteen forum?
