I’ve just installed CSS & Javascript Toolbox and no headache at all!

I’ve added this:

‘custom-scripts’ => array(
‘path’ => ‘inc/assets/js/’,
‘files’ => array( ‘custom.js’ ),
‘dependencies’ => array()

Still no lucky.
