My bad..I was putting the widgets in the Homepage instead of the Sidebar.
A little misleading but maybe I just don’t understand why.

I have added the a text widget with some random letters and it still doesn’t work.
I did just change back to the twentyten theme and the widget changes appeared.
I am trying to contact the developer but if you happen to have another suggestion please let me know.
