In reply to: Different background color for content area on one pageThe site background is actually a gradient, but really I think my problem is the way I am referring to the page’s content area in the css. I am just not sure how to fix it…
No, but I deleted the event and redid it and it’s fine now… so just a glitch! Thanks.

In reply to: Problems with twentytwelve nav bar in IE8@alchymyth – thank you.
I am not seeing the nav bar looking like that in FF or any other browser – it does have some padding at the left. Are you?

In reply to: Problems with twentytwelve nav bar in IE8Thank you both for replying.
Andrew – I haven’t added in anything to the child style sheet specifying styling for the nav bar in IE. I don’t know where that is. And, it has a bit of padding to the left in Firefox, Safari and Chrome.
Rev. Voodoo – yes, I have done a couple of twentytwelves sites with the white nav, but this client wanted it colored – and I don’t run IE at all so I didn’t realize it was a problem (I have another client with a colored nav bar and now I am worried about that one). The client, of course, is running IE 8 on his laptop.
I don’t know anything about enqueuing stylesheets, or doing it conditionally. I did copy a little bit of ie CSS I found to fix another IE problem – not sure if that is what you mean?

In reply to: Twentlytwelve Child theme style sheet won't upload via ftpNo, paulwpxp, I just accidentally didn’t copy that part.
I am having such a hard time. I talked to tech support with the web host and they couldn’t figure it out. I was able to upload the child theme through both the Cpanel and cyberduck, and to activate it in WP, but the stylesheet isn’t being read and the page has no styling:

It seems like there must be a problem with the style sheet but I can’t figure out what it is…

In reply to: blog as home page with tab tooI’m sorry, I am actually helping the original poster.
FYI – I figured it out:
http://wpweaver.info/home-page-blog-page-page-with-posts/but I reversed what they said to do and didn’t specify a home page, but did specify the posts page as “blog”
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: blog as home page with tab tooIt’s a long story – we did have home, but that was a static page, now we want the posts to appear on the home page AND for “home” to appear in the menu. We used the first option in “reading,” and all the posts were on the first page but there is no menu item, or page, for them. If we go with the “static” page option, then we can have the home page in the menu, but not the posts on the home page…
I am having the same problem and the above stylesheet fix made no difference, nor did any of the other mentioned fixes in a couple of forum posts. Any ideas?
