I see your point but since upgrading above 2.0 makes the plug-in useless (Gallerys gone and no uploading possible) I still wonder if you have any fixes?
One more clue: when trying to create and upload to a new gallery with the latest NGG-version – NGG puts the uploaded pictures in the public_html-directory – so some pointer somewhere is wayoff.
ok – after giving this up for a while, I found this topic https://wordpress.org/support/topic/slideshow-gallery-not-displaying-after-upgrade/
So – since php is way above my skills – I used the RollBack-plugin to downgrade NGG to 1.9.something and voilá everything works as before. Big thx @daylesfordsc!!
Q – are there any security issues in 1.9?
Are there any fixes available so I can upgrade above 2.0?Update2 – same thing when trying to upload new pics to a new gallery. Counter advancing to 78 items, nothing to be seen. Or found…
Update – I tried to add another gallery to try a manual fix but this doesn´t show up either. BUT the gallery counter advanced to 77 items…
Mysteries are to be solved…!
I tried to copy the three ngg-tables from the old/swedish mySQL-database
wp_ngg_album
wp_ngg_gallery
wp_ngg_pictures
to the new/english databaseand I got everything…BUT…the pictures… The Albums and the Gallerys are there but the picturelink is broken.
So in the Gallery there is a picture path which by default is /wp-content/gallery/…(gallery name)…
I tried to change this to the long path of the old/swedish site-gallery where the pics are but by some %(/%(/&% default (/%(/&% the plug-in puts the new/english site name first which render something like http://www.theatreslava.org/home/public_html/www.teaterslava.org/….etc FFF(very/&%/&%)
Anyone care to take up from here?
… just changing the path and everything would work…
Ok – you have to make two instances of the same gallery, one on each site, but from there you could find the pictures – IF you only could change the pathCome on Photocrati – give us an answer!
Hi, I the same question. I tried to change the upload path in the settings to where my gallery of the first site is located, but obviously there has to be some more pointers somewhere else…
the two sites are on the same server:
In Swedish with gallery content http://www.teaterslava.org
In English with no gallery content http://www.theatreslava.orgGreat plugin anyway!
@anitasavia – sorry! Forgot to empty the cache! It works perfect. Thx!!! Now I only need to fix the navigation… still in 100% width…
I´ve got the same problem. Tried your code, anitasavia, but it didn´t solve the issue. I´m not sure if I use the imagebrowser or what. I use the nggallery id=# code to display the gallery and when I click on a thumbnail an ENLARGED (and thus ugly pixeled!) version of the pic shows up. (is that the imagebrowser?) If I choose to view it with the Slideshow the pics are shown correctly.
And @alex Rabe to the wishlist: an option to choose what and where to link pictures – I personally don´t want to see another version of the same picture in a new window when I click on the pic. On the other hand – if it was possible to assign a custom link to every picture in the gallery I could enhance the (truly great) album feature with more levels (one picture links to another gallery where the pictures there link to new galleries etc…)
