I’m just seeing your note, but I’m on my way out for a couple of hours, I’ll have a look when I get back and see what I can come up with. I think you might have your error reporting set a bit to strict as I don’t know that I’ve seen those messages using the tennis ‘sport’ before.

I’ll be in touch after I do some testing, but again, I’ll be a bit later tonight, we’ll get it worked out for you…

I haven’t worked with the stats function much as is with LeagueManager because I could never get it to work quite right. To be honest, my thought was that it needed to be looked at for a long-term plan for making it usable for long-term stats and not just season-by-season.

I’ll have a look at it to see if I can come up with any issues that can be quickly fixed, but I don’t think it makes any sense to spend a lot of time on it as is, I think it’s going to end up being re-written and it’s one of the top priorities that I have.

With that said, let me ask two questions:
1). Are you using the latest version of LeagueManager (3.8.8 or 3.8.8.1)?
2). Do you have ProjectManager installed?

There was a version of the file needed posted already, but here’s a newer version:

    http://pastebin.com/dm7PR61K

    Here’s the previous version:

    http://pastebin.com/bmqkE5W8

I’m posting the previous just in case there’s something new in there that requires another updated file, but I don’t think so.

This is the admin.php file, located in the admin folder. save a copy of the current file (rename it or download it so you have the original), then drop this file into the admin folder. If you have any questions about it, don’t hesitate to ask.

This admin.php version fixes the meta box, adds a dashboard widget that shows recent support comments, fixes the import/export functions, updates some old code to newer WordPress requirements, and some minor cosmetic changes like changing the name of the menu from “League” to “LeagueManager”.

Interestingly, I never saw that item in months of working with LeagueManger. A couple of weeks ago I started checking the code for problems and found out that that function was throwing errors, so I fixed it and now I do see it. I believe that I’ve got it fixed, I’m doing to find the file, post it on PasteBin and you can check to see if it fixes it for you. I haven’t posted a new update to the core for a month or so because I’ve been working on a few bigger issues, so this is a good way to hopefully solve the problem until I have a new release ready.

    I’ll be in touch shortly…

‘the menu to link it is gone.’

Can you tell me where the menu was? This is a function I’m not very familiar with, so it’s possible I’ve done something without realizing it (I’m not the original developer).

If you can tell me where the function was and how it worked, I’ll have a look in the older versions and see what might have changed in the updates and try to get it resolved.

    Thanks

The number of results you try to update isn’t the problem, what happens is if there is a number of matches that are all listed, they all get updated, not just something new, the system reads through everything, that’s why if you filter by match day, you only have a small subset of matches to work from and the upper limit isn’t reached.

When you say ‘breaks the website’, what does that mean exactly? This setting shouldn’t affect anything else in a negative way, that I know of (which doesn’t mean much…).

The alternative here might be to ask your hosting provider to tweak the php.ini setting for you or look through your control panel, you might have access to it.

Would it be possible for me to get temp access to your admin area that I can look around and see what could be happening?

I’m just noticing that my reply didn’t get posted, I apologize…

As far as I’m aware, there is no one working on a Portuguese translation.

Most likely you’ve run into a new PHP issue that was put in to prevent a specific exploit.

The immediate solution is to filter your matches by match day (if you have match day set up). If you find that you can work with results in smaller blocks, the solution is at the following link:

Let me know if any of that works for you…

I have to look into it, but I’m curious if your server time is different than your time. I used to have issues at times with things like that since my server is an hour behind me.

Hopefully I can get in to look at it a bit later today.

Where exactly is it showing already played, one of the widgets? I have an idea as to why this is happening, but need to be able to duplicate it, so let me know what you’ve done so I can test a few things.

    Thanks

Go to the preferences for the league, there is an item called ‘Point Format”, right now you probably have ‘%d:%d’, which is the default setting. Change that to ‘%d’

    That should do it…

You are right, when you see the score, that’s the set score and then ‘sets’ are the games of the set. Technically, the ‘score’ isn’t necessary since the system should be able to figure out who won a set based on the set score. I can’t remember, but there might be a problem with the tennis scoring. I’ll put it on the list to check…

Are you using the latest version of the plugin? Make sure you keep up with changes as this is an area that will be getting updates.

There’s a plan for that. I’ve got code to allow for out-of-group games. For the ‘championship’ games, I have to dig into it further, but the way the NFL system works should be doable now. What we need to add is the out-of-group (division/conference whatever they are called in the particular sport), so non-conference games can be added. Once the full season is played the playoffs can be edited to work as needed, but I’m sure there is tweaking needed. The basketball leagues that I’m working with are into the season-end games, so I’m working with live data now and seeing what I need to fix/add, but if you have ideas/suggestions, please forward them so we can get things on a list and moving forward.

    Thanks!

You’re welcome, although my role has been very minimal at this point, all credit goes to Kolja.

Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help out… There are a lot of updates in the works, just trying to get things stabilized and updated to remove errors due to changes in WordPress. With 3.6 just around the corner, we need to make sure we are all prepared…

I do look forward to seeing how LeagueManager works for you though, we appreciate your consideration in using it.

    Hi Conor,

Absolutely, what would be great if you could provide what you’ve worked on and I can take a look at what you’ve done. Small changes can be implemented quickly, anything significant would have to be run by the original author.

If you’ve got anything you want to send over, send me an email at lamontef (at) yahoo (.) com.

    Thanks!
