As of today, LeagueManager author Kolja Schleich has added me as a committer so I can help him out with bug fixes and further development. I’m about to upload version 3.8.5, but wanted to post information on the files that will be updated in case you are like me and have done some modifications on your own, which will be overwritten if they are part of any of the files that are being committed.
As I’ve worked with LeagueManager over the last eight months, I’ve found a few things that I’ve fixed, so those are going to get put in first. In this update the files listed at the bottom will be updated, so if you’ve done any mods to any of these files you’re going to want to download the plugin and merge your changes to it and then upload the plugin instead of having it auto updated. If you’ve done any mods that you feel might be something others would be interested in, let me know, I’ll discuss them with Kolja and will see if we can get some new features others have added incorporated into the main code.
With that said, here is a list of the files that 3.8.5 updates (many of these are as simple as ‘championchip’ changing to ‘championship’ to be consistent across the plugin):
The changes made in this commit are fairly minor, but this does address the white screen after updating or adding matches and fixes the problem with the widget not listing the match date. If you have any problems after the update, let me know right away.
Hi LaMonthe, Just wanted to say thank you for all your work on this plugin. I do WP development for a very large sports site and we were originally looking to implement LeagueManager, but we decided against it because it was no longer being developed. Now that I see it is being updated, we will probably implement it ASAP.
You’re welcome, although my role has been very minimal at this point, all credit goes to Kolja.
Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help out… There are a lot of updates in the works, just trying to get things stabilized and updated to remove errors due to changes in WordPress. With 3.6 just around the corner, we need to make sure we are all prepared…
I do look forward to seeing how LeagueManager works for you though, we appreciate your consideration in using it.
Is it possible to add a championship game inter-group? I would like to create a system like the NFL championship.
There’s a plan for that. I’ve got code to allow for out-of-group games. For the ‘championship’ games, I have to dig into it further, but the way the NFL system works should be doable now. What we need to add is the out-of-group (division/conference whatever they are called in the particular sport), so non-conference games can be added. Once the full season is played the playoffs can be edited to work as needed, but I’m sure there is tweaking needed. The basketball leagues that I’m working with are into the season-end games, so I’m working with live data now and seeing what I need to fix/add, but if you have ideas/suggestions, please forward them so we can get things on a list and moving forward.
In which file this is the code which indicates that the inter-group championship match is not possible ?
Better late than never! I hope someday this plugin would go premium because it’s a shame that we can’t get some pro help with this plugin. 🙂
I wish you all the best!
Did the Inter-Group play for Championship mode get into the plugin yet and if so, what version? If its not there, is the code available? I keep seeing references to it. GREAT plugin, btw.
Any progress yet on a the sport of curling
new to this so apologies if this is not where it should be
Dear LaMonte Forthun,
I have a problem with manual moving teams in table in LeagueManager. I just can’t do it (on any browser). It is important because nowadays in soccer when teams have equal number of points their position is decided by results of matches between them.
