Actually I found the answer: our WP install had a us_US locale. We changed it to fr_FR and everything is Ok now.

Dear Yoast, as it seems, some people do not agree (in French) with the merely techincal questions we posted yesterday on this Forum. Is there a way we can get rid of these spammers ?
