Update:

Magic Fields was functioning all the time and didn’t have anything to do with my issue.

Permalinks was the main problem and also white space between <?php ?> tags in some of the template files which started to be a problem after upgrading to WP 3

Hello,

I decided to re-install the old WordPress version, a mirror copy of the old files which were working perfectly but now when installing it into the new hosting server it points me back to the index page of my old host.

Is there a path somewhere in the files that has to be changed in order to make the site point to my new host?

Might just need to reset permalinks

go to settings -> Permalinks’

set back to default and save
if things are good, set back to custom

If that doesn’t work, you may have a plugin or theme that is no longer compatible

Deactyivate all plugins and test. If that fixes problem, reactivate plugins one at a time til you find the problem

If its not permalinks or plugins, switch to twentyten theme and test to see if its theme related

It was indeed the permalinks. 🙂

The plugin that is causing me trouble is Magic Fields. Since the whole website relies heavily on it, i think i cant just deactivate it. Would there be a way of getting magic fields to be happy again?
