I tried that and it throws an error saying page can’t be indexed. No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘X-Robots-Tag’ http header. The same tag doesn’t seem to be present on other pages of the we site but only on sitemap.xml.

Curl online shows the header does have no index attached to it. Wonder what added that to the site. I do have wordfence installed, but it shouldn’t be blocking google.

thanks for the message Ravan. I was just testing something and had put a static file to see if that would work. but that didn’t work either. now i have removed it, and you should be able to see the correct file generated by the plugin.

https://yoursite.com/?feed=sitemap gave the error – couldn’t fetch file.
