Oh, it’s actually a vintage project from 2015, @ruqaiyya.
As always, after bridged with your snippet, I have found the root bug now. Many thanks for pointing me to not giving up. It was indeed another plug-in, accidentally adding a second, overlaying wp-login CSS. Have deactivated it.
Talk maybe in 10 years again. )

Thank you, @ruqaiyya – good hint, found it in debug mode.
I have two questions:
- How does it suddenly appear – since 2015 never before?
- It’s no custom CSS nor in the theme/login CSS files. How could I identify the correct one?
