Now all new replies are visible and no problems seem to persist.

it is an intranet installation on a MS-Windows Server machine. So from this perspecitive it is a full internet installation, I just can not provide access from outside yet.
Regarding the themes I prefer the twenty fourteen theme and I’m aware that there is a localized version which I have as alternative theme. Using it does not resolve the matter 🙁 but this was expected.
