    Hey Calynese,

Sorry about your troubles mate. I think I’ve found the issue to your problem, so I just pushed a quick fix for you. Try downloading the plugin again and overwrite your current kontrol plugin directory with the new files. Let me know how you go, goodluck!

Ok should be all good now, looks like there was only two pass by reference calls left in from some old legacy code. I’ve fixed them up and pushed the changes, try downloading the plugin again and see how you go!

    Goodluck,
    Dave.

    Hey awordpressenthusiast,

Ah looks like you’re running PHP 5.4 which removed pass by reference, I was running WAMP 5.3. I’ll take a look at this and change the references for 5.4. I’ll let you know how I go.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

Ok went one better and made a automatic check for short tags when enabling the plugin, it will now fail gracefully and let the use know the exact problem and how to enable short tags. I’ll push that fix live shortly.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

    Hey awordpressenthusiast,

I managed to replicate this issue in WAMP. Looks like this issue stems from not having PHP short tags enabled which WAMP seems to do by default. To fix this in WAMP, click on the WAMP icon, go to ‘PHP Settings’ and select the ‘short open tag’ from the menu near the top. Then click on the WAMP icon and ‘Restart All Services’. That should fix it mate, let me know how you go!

I’ll make a note on the installation instructions for this.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

    Hi Mac,

Thanks for your feedback mate, I really appreciate you taking the time and it’s always great to hear what other developers would like to see in our plugin.

In regards to the suggested feature of a visual template composer, can you elaborate a little more on how you would like something like this to be implemented? Basically you’d like to see a visual editor that can allow you to add taxonomies/custom fields etc. to a template without editing the code directly?

As for the pro license, that will unlock all the limitations on the free version and will also guarantee that any future modules that come with the plugin will also be unlocked and fully functional. Here’s a quick run down of the version differences: https://www.kontrolwp.com/upgrade

With the “image” custom field, I originally opted out of using the WordPress modal because it allowed me to incorporate a lot more advanced features if I didn’t. Features such as automatic resizing, image effects (sharpen, blur etc), the upload progress bar, file size limitations etc. all wouldn’t have been possible with the WP Modal. Like you mentioned though, the drawback of this is not being able to select an image you’ve already uploaded. I’ll certainly look at this in the next update and see what I can come up with that will give us the best of both worlds. Might even give the user the option when creating that custom field if they want to use the WP modal for selecting or our advanced uploaded. Look for this change in one of the future updates, hopefully not to far away.

    Thanks again for your feedback,
    Dave.

    Hey aWordPressEnthusiast,

Thanks for the heads up about your problem mate. I just did a fresh install of our plugin on a 3.5 install and didn’t encounter any errors. However I did notice that your running it under WAMP which is something I haven’t tried with the plugin yet. I’ll setup WAMP later on tonight and try running it off there to see if there might be an issue with that.

Do you have access to another server you can try setting it up on in the mean time? Also if possible, are you using the latest WAMP?

We’ll get to the bottom of this!
    Dave.
