Resolved. The main menu had not been set to the right location. My apologies!

    Hi there,
Thanks so much for your prompt reply! Unfortunately with the free version of Sydney, I do not have access to the addition css tab πŸ™ I was wondering if there was a way to hide it with basic the basic options. If I can manage to find a way to have the header video play in full screen (another thread) it would not matter so much if the footer was there since you would have to scroll down to see it. Anyways, thanks again !!!

    Hello,

Thank you kindly for the tip: this sounds like a terrific easy fix. That is why I am a little confused as to why, in the updated version of wp, it has completely been removed!

Instead of a using a simple checkbox as you mentioned above, it seems things are more complex, as mentioned in this tutorial, with the following warning in bold:
Note: This tutorial is not for beginners. Use it only if you know what you are doing.

Unfortunatley I am indeed a beginner.

Is there any other option to fix using the above suggestion?

    Thanks again!

    Thanks Vladff,

I did highlight and remove the link to the image, but it still appears as a thumbnail under the empty line. Maybe there is a way to delete the thumbnail image?

I thought I better mention here that I seem to also be having trouble getting rid of the toggled images on individual pages: when I remove the image and update, it still shows up on the site. For a reminder, I am not using a cache plug-in; I thought it might be linked to another issue, as mentioned in the last post I entered here, but am not sure… πŸ™

    Thanks in advance!

Before marking this issue as resolved, I just had one more question.
First of all, thanks for the info. I read this and then found the .htaccess file with filezilla and changed the numeric values to 666 (which, if I understand correctly, I should change back to 644 when the site is finished).

But I am having another problem, although it may be unrelated (if it turns out it is, I can start a new thread): none of my page edits seem to save.

I read here about similar issues, but two things make me a little hesitant to try this.
First, the post is 6 years old πŸ™
Second, I DO have a .htaccess file, but it is not IN my wp-admin folder. If I were to make the changes noted above which suggest creating a text file and renaming it within the wp-admin file, should I delete the .htaccess file that is not that folder?

    Thanks for your advice!

    Hello!

Thanks for helping out again, Dimikjones πŸ™‚

When I applied the code, the image actually increased and covered the whole page. I suppose that isn’t really a problem for the front page, but the look that I would really like for the other pages is like the sydney theme, as shown here: http://demo.athemes.com/sydney/services/

I actually would have used Sydney, if it were not for the fact that I cannot toggle images on individual pages and cannot have a full screen image on the front page (needs to be a slider with multiple images).

Anyway, I do understand if I am just asking for the impossible!!! Thanks for your time and help πŸ™‚

Thanks so much for your help!
I’ve sent you the login information.
As for your suggestions, I am quite sure I haven’t changed the .htaccess file, and am not using a cache plugin.

Thanks for the VERY quick reply!
I followed your instructions, WPyogi, but it doesn’t seem to change anything. FYI, just in case it makes a difference, the only thing selected under “Most common settings” (again, it’s a translation, but must be something like that) is “article name”.

Forgot to add that I am not using any translation plug-ins; I’m building the site with the french version of wp.

    Hi there,

I just upgraded to the latest version on Moesia as well and was wondering if this thread might apply to my situation?
I can see my front page, but when I click on any of the other pages in the menu, I get the following error (I am translating from the message which appears in French):

    Error 404 – Not found
This file was not found. This could be a technical error. Please try again later. If you cannot access this file after a few tries, it means it has been deleted.

What is strange is that the pages still exist, as does the menu… I even deleted the pages and menu and rebuilt them, but they still showed the same error message. I also imported types once again (which may have been totally useless but felt like a very professional thing to do. You can probably tell that this isn’t my day job πŸ˜‰ Anyway, I’m stumped.

Thanks in advance for any light you could shed on the situation!

Just realised I wasn’t using the updated version- sorry about that, and thanks for including this option!

    Hello,

Thanks for this thread- I was having the same issue.
However I’d like to try the option that vladff mentioned which allows you to display the menu before the header image. I just can’t seem to find it under appearance>customize or appearance>menus. Or maybe I’m looking for an option that is only available in the pro version?

    Thanks in advance!
