I would love to help if I had figured it out but as of now I have not and hadn’t had any responses from here to my original question.
I believe what I’m going to end up doing is to migrate the complete setup from my development site into a new directory on my production server and then remove all of the sites under that installation of WordPress multi-site setup except the one I want. Basically, I’ll have two installs of WordPress on my production server which defeats the purpose of using the multi-site setup.
Before I make the final jump though to a dual install of WordPress, I’m going to continue looking for an answer to my question. My new development site isn’t quite ready to go live yet anyway so I have a couple of weeks.
If you come up with something before then, I would love to hear how you handle it. I will do the same in this post once I get it completed.
