In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Hi Jetpack! All systems go.Nope. Not me. But I haven’t had that issue reoccur since that first post nor have I had any complaints from readers.

In reply to: [Yoast Duplicate Post] Not saving changes on the duplicateThanks. It sorted itself out about 24 hours later. i have no idea why it worked eventually. Maybe a caching issue.
All good.
I’m finding your plugin very useful.
🙂Hey there Pete…
I thought I ought to let you know… my site has not been hacked again but… the issue has re-occurred. Non of my posts are available to the public no matter what i do. The plugin is assigning everything as membership required regardless of which box is ticked.
It’s a serious issue for my business because it is making most readers turn away instantly.
I am having trouble understanding, if the issue was definitely resolved, why would it happen again? I resolved it last time by reloading the theme from my last back-up. I can’t keep doing that once a week.
Do you have any suggestions? Has anyone else out there bumped into this problem?
Thanks
MarkSo… I don’t know if this means anything but…
the posts that are supposed to be showing public are still showing public in the site, but when i investigate the back end, they are still being listed with the asterix saying :
* This post is already protected for this level because it is within a category that requires membership.
Even though it’s not true. Even though that category, that page is unticked.
It worries me that because those categories are still registering as restricted, at some point the whole thing could just revert again.
You have any thoughts on that?Pete thank you so much for your support. I really appreciate it.
I hope I’m not about to jinx it when i say – I believe the problem is solved. I went through all the steps you suggested. I left restoring the theme til last as I had made a few changes and have no idea what the whole child/parent thing was even. The theme restoration seems to have done it.
If you feel like checking the site out it’s kissthecore.com – a cultural magazine for brisbane and gold coast. If you set up a public registration, I’d be happy to upgrade you to full access keyholder for free.
You’re a good chap. Have a great day.mark

In reply to: [Theme My Login] disasterNo, the security module isn’t active.
Do you have any idea why I couldn’t log back into my site once I deactivated tml?
I had to go back in via the godaddy backdoor and reactivate to gain access.
I’d like to disable tml so folks can read my posts but it’s an issue if I’m getting locked out. Do you have any ideas how I might go about that, Jeff?
Thanks in advance.Everything is backed up to dropbox yes.
I de-activated both plugins and then activated again, now a few of the categories have become unrestricted but not all of them.
I do have security plugins running. I changed security two days ago when my site got hacked. I have firewalls up .. I ran scans for malicious code and the scans found nothing.
I have checked the settings on security and can find nothing that would make posts restricted.
Not sure what you mean by saving permalinks.Honestly Pete… last night I went to bed, the whole thing was perfect.
This morning it’s not.
As far as I know nothing changed.
I checked the logs to see if I was hacked and nothing showing.
When I say – went live – i just mean I made announcements to the world that the site exists. Nothing real changed.
They can enter the homepage and menus etc but the posts are not showing unless they are logged in. And of course there is nothing to entice them to register.
I turned off the plugin and nothing changed.
Then I turned off Theme my Login and suddenly the posts reappeared but I was unable to get into my dashboard and no longer have subscriptions.
Basically, on the back end a post has an asterisk next to it saying that it is protected because it is in the protected category, only those categories are not checked as protected. And because they are not checked I cannot uncheck them.
I understand it’s not a lot to go on. But I am at the end of my tether. i have also written to theme my login. No, neither of those things.
I ended up changing to allinone.
I had to turn off the security plugin to let my team in to work and then suddenly I was getting hacked again. A third party actually found their way into my site so i installed all in one plugin quickly to deal with it.
Thanks for your response though.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Hi Jetpack! All systems go.Thanks Jeremy. I already installed the plugin from Sucuri.
But if you hear of anyone else with the same issue and you manage to work out what it was please let me know.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Hi Jetpack! All systems go.Hey Jeremy…
I have gone through the steps… spent four hours we four different adware/spyware.malware detection tools. They found nothing on my laptop. Then I used google developer and it found no anomalies and then I downloaded sucuri and ran full diagnostics on the site and they found no bad code or malware or anything. The site is designated clean.
The issue resolved itself after five hours but it has given me cause for concern. Like whatever the problem was, it has not been dealt with properly and could just reoccur at any given point.
You have any ideas for me at all. I would love to put this to bed. Thanks for you help.

I appreciate your help.

In reply to: [Simple Membership] Membership Registration LevelsA test account would allow me to run through the process without having to pay the subscription myself?
How might I go about doing that, do you know?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Simple Membership] Membership Registration LevelsThank you for that. It was a very simple and clear explanation. So basically it’s saying that the process takes care of itself via a link emailed to the subscriber.
I can’t test whether or not it works though which leaves me feeling slightly unsettled.
Thank you for your time though.
have a great day.
