    A quick follow up – the problem was solved. I noticed that the cart was requesting the images from https:// instead of http://. But I am using PayPal Advanced, and did not need an SSL certificate for this site. Tech support at Woo suggested unchecking the “force secure checkout” box in the settings, but that box was already unchecked.

    But I also have Premise installed on this site, and I wondered if perhaps those settings were affecting the WooCommerce cart.

    Under Member Access > Security Settings in Premise, I noticed that the “enable SSL on checkout page” was checked. I didn’t realize that settings in Premise could impact the WooCommerce cart, but when I unchecked that box, the images appeared in the cart.
