Found the problem to my issue. I was using a free hosting plan, which was not allowed to perform outgoing connections to remote servers. When I upgrade my account it fixed everything.
I’m having this same problem, certain plug-ins that need to communicate to other sites arent working. Examples like a few Twitter plug-ins and a auto blogging plug-in. They ether say “error communicating with twitter” or “Failed to connect to ***** IP number 1: Permission denied” Has anyone figured this problem out yet?
