In reply to: [Maintenance Mode] Image keeps disappearingHi Lukas,
Unfortunately, I cannot get it to work. I turned it on and checked it from someone else’s computer but the page didn’t show the maintainence mode (and it isn’t a cached page on that computer – I know that).

In reply to: Insert logo into post textI think my theme (and my custom font) uses point sizes as opposed to percentages.
With responsive design, everything has become so much of an estimated guess. I’ll give it a shot.

In reply to: Duplicator – Installer has Install errors. So I have finally gotten the upload done, but haven’t gotten any further as I cannot log into my WP. The page is blank and writing http://www.mypage/wp-admin/ won’t call it up. Any tips?
I am still in Duplicator for the final test. The database has been created.
Please help.
Thanks
KimAnd in the former theme, I (after making a CSS copy and storing it elsewhere) removed any all bold and all caps from the css.
I am happy to see the other things beginning to work.
🙂I’m fiddling around now, but I do know that I have the right font (I’ve checked it with “WhatFont” in my browser.
I’ll probably write a bit later or tomorrow as it is getting late here. Thanks for helping me.

KimThank you. I can’t wait to try it out.
Have a great Sunday.
Regars,
KimHi Ncej
I guess part of the problem was coming from not ‘putting the plug in’. Because I was able to see my pages without pressing ‘publish’ I assumed that I could do so with the blogs as well. (And I actually am a person who has studied… see what a degree doesn’t help you with). Excuse the wrong (and most embarrassing) assumption, please.
But that doesn’t explain why the first theme’s slider’s and portfolios didn’t work. I’ve given up on that theme and will purchase the organicthemes one.
I do need the following information:
My landing page is to be called home and not the standard wp-index page…it will be a static page. How can I accomplish this? ( I will make a child theme out of the theme to adjust for changes and updates in the original theme). I found this input: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/force-child-theme-to-ignore-parent-theme-home-page-template?replies=8″ but the author of the thread says in the end, it won’t help anybody.
My ‘blog’ page (menu item) should actually call up what is now the ‘index’ page of the WP. I suppose that I must link it to the original index page, but if my ‘home’ page is to be the index page, and the original index is to be renamed… how do I structure that?
Lastly, I have custom WebFonts (DSari). No matter what theme I place them in, DSari ExtraLight just comes up as ‘bold’ or ‘strong’. I cannot override it. (I actually tried to in the first theme, but to no avail). The other DSari font styles work. What is going on here?
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Logos still distorted, please helpHi Esmi,
I solved it after having looked at other similar problems. The theme is TINT from Themes Kingdom. The recommended header size in the dashboard was wrong. I found documentation for correct sizes for header and footer http://www.themeskingdom.com/docs/tint
The header should be 195×32 px. And now it fits.
I don’t know why the wrong size was listed in the dashboard. But now I can get on with the rest of it. Thanks.
