    Another happy dance – the upgrade to 3.1.1 has returned my beloved visual editor to its rightful appearance and function. Thanks for bringing this issue to the forum and all those who provided thoughtful suggestions here. Think success, be successful 🙂

    @kbarncat – Just woke up on this side of the world to find that upgrading to 3.1.1 has fixed my visual editor issues. Hope you have some success soon 🙂

    No way are you an idiot – I don’t even attempt to learn the coding stuff 🙂 I am notorious for using the “wrong” words when referring to these things so here’s the actual task that was performed (sadly it is at the host so you might still be no better off).
    In the cPanel go to Hotlinks and make sure that the correct URL for your site is listed – this was where we found that some of the URL was missing from our listed sites.

    Thanks Ipstenu I actually discovered the solution to this particular issue through another thread 🙂 Lucky, since the flower arranging competition season is about to start and I need to be cool, calm and collected 😉

    Happy, happy, happy dance!!
    In the process of doing a new page for one of the sites, noticed that the Capcha wasn’t showing up properly in the preview. Then actually looked at the site itself and found that none of the images were showing. Checked the permissions and bam! two of the sites have incomplete names….nothing we did but now fixed and behold the visual editor is working again.

    I’m joining the queue for a solution, having tried everything that has been suggested both here and on other forums.
    In my situation we have multiple sites, multiple hosts (sounds like a science fiction problem!) and still only two issues: visual editor loads then disappears, and we cant upload images. These problems do not occur on all sites yet all use the same theme and plugins. Ahhhhhh…..

    I have had this problem since upgrading to the latest version of WordPress. I have tried:
    different machines
    different browsers
    different sites and hosts
    deactivating all plugins
    changing theme
    checking permissions
    One of my other sites now wont let me use visual mode for posts but this site has not been upgraded to latest WP version.
    I’m seriously thinking of tossing them all out the window and going back to my flower arranging…….
