The problem has been solved. You sparked my thinking to double check on the words that have a redirect. I had “go” as a redirect and therefore every word that starts with go- like “gobble, good, goblin, etc.” was redirecting to the word “go”. I figured this out.
I use Relevanssi for a better search.
There are a list of stop words and for some of my entries get put into the stop word section. Once I removed them, they came up in the search.
Not sure why nobody responded to me beforehand though. Hope that I help someone that has a similar problem.
