In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Plugin is synching all contacts in storeHi @marcosmixlife, we’ve run a fresh round of testing on our side to confirm the “Sync existing contacts only” setting, and everything appears to be working as expected. When reconnecting a store and choosing that option, only contacts already present in the selected Mailchimp Audience are synced. Others are correctly skipped during the process, as shown in the plugin logs.
If you’re seeing different behavior, it may be due to a theme or plugin conflict. Another possible workaround is to reach out to Mailchimp support directly to see if they can help archive the contacts post-sync, depending on how your list is structured.
Let us know if you’re open to doing a quick test with a fresh Audience and we’d be happy to walk through it with you. Thanks!

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Cannot Connect WP to MailchimpHi @justjj92, thank you for reaching out regarding the connection issue between your WordPress site and Mailchimp. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
- Check Plugin Version: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin (5.3 current). Updates often include bug fixes and compatibility improvements.
- Theme and Plugin Conflicts:
- Temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) to see if the issue persists.
- Deactivate all other plugins except for WooCommerce and Mailchimp for WooCommerce. This will help identify if there is a conflict with another plugin.
- Caching Issues: If you are using a caching service (like Cloudflare), consider adding an exclusion path for the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin to prevent caching conflicts.
- Error Logs: Check the plugin’s logs for any error messages that could provide insight into the issue. You can also enable Remote Diagnostics in the plugin settings for further investigation.
If you follow these steps and still encounter issues, please provide any error messages you find in the (fatal) logs, and we can assist you further.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Orders stopped syncingHi @ben72, thanks for your patience.
From the plugin’s logs, we can confirm that orders are being submitted successfully when they’re placed. That said, revenue attribution is handled entirely within Mailchimp and isn’t something the plugin controls or displays.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help with on the plugin side!

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] plugin won’t connect to accountHi @apostnikov — sorry you’re having so much trouble. I saw your review and hope it’s not too late to try again. We’ve identified a few things internally that may have contributed to the issue connecting your site, though we can’t say for certain without more details. It’s also possible there could be something on the WordPress hosting side or a conflict with another plugin or theme. Occasionally there are a few things on the WooCommerce side that need to be double-checked as well.
If you’re open to giving it another shot, we’d be glad to help troubleshoot.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Orders stopped syncingHi Ben, thanks for reaching out. I wanted to chime in since I’m part of the engineering team for the plugin. The Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin handles syncing order and customer data to Mailchimp, but revenue attribution and reporting are managed entirely within Mailchimp’s system.
Sorry to pass you off, but for questions about how revenue is tracked, calculated, or displayed, you’ll need to contact Mailchimp Support directly. They’ll be able to look into your account and provide the most accurate help.
If you run into any plugin syncing issues specifically, let us know and we’ll be happy to assist.
Hi @zobabe, during the sync process, if you are using the welcome email feature, it is recommended to archive (and then redo after sync) the welcome email to prevent it from being sent to existing customers. Additionally, if double opt-in is enabled, it should also be turned off during syncing to avoid sending confirmation emails. This approach ensures that existing customers do not receive unintended welcome or confirmation emails while the sync is taking place.

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] can’t connect to mailchimpHi there,
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble connecting Mailchimp for WooCommerce, here’s a few ideas to get you going:- Plugin Versions – Make sure WordPress, WooCommerce, and Mailchimp for WooCommerce are all updated to their latest versions. Compatibility issues can sometimes silently break the connection flow.
- Cache Clearing – Clear both your site cache (if you’re using a caching plugin) and your browser cache. We’ve seen stale cached scripts interfere with the connection process.
- Plugin Conflicts – Try temporarily disabling other plugins and attempt the Mailchimp connection again. If it works, re-enable your plugins one-by-one to identify the conflict.
- Browser Console – Open your browser’s developer tools and look at the JavaScript console during the connection process. Any red error messages could offer clues.
- Server Logs – If you have access, check your server’s error logs for any entries related to the Mailchimp plugin or other plugins that have fatal errors. Those can sometimes reveal what’s breaking behind the scenes.
- Reinstallation – If all else fails, uninstalling and reinstalling the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin (and ensuring all its data is fully removed before re-adding) can sometimes help reset the connection.
Still stuck after trying the above? Let us know what you’ve already attempted and we can help dig in further.
