I also note that memcached does not stay switched on, the toggle keeps switching itself off. I wonder if this has to do with the high CPU?

Thanks for your quick response. I indeed did have Sucuri caching on but have now switched
this off, however I now again have very high CPU and I do not understand what causes this. I am grateful for any tips of advice.
Thank you very much. I have indeed found problems with plugins which I had updated.
Also thanks for raising the other issue of GS code in my theme, I am going to look into that.
