  • Alright, well I did what caldwell said. I disabled the plugin and I then removed it and FTP’d in to the server to make sure it was gone. I also went to Amazon and wiped my Access Keys.

I redownloaded and reinstalled the plugin and then created a new access key on Amazon. I entered the new key and at first it said it was an invalid access key. I believe there’s just a delay since I entered it right after creating it. When I tried the second time it worked and accepted the key and the plugin is back up and running again. So thank Caldwell.

Something I did notice on the reinstall is that the file count is different from what I had on the server previously, even though I had the latest version on there. I’d always done the automatic upgrade from the plugin menu, could this be why? The menu also looks slightly different now as well as it fits in a nice little box on the API config screen, but before the reinstall it did not. Both versions are 0.9.9, but there are minor differences in file count and menu appearance between them in spite of being the same version. Only difference is that this one is a fresh reinstall, while the one prior was auto-upgraded through the plugin menu in WordPress.

I can’t explain this difference, but I do recommend anyone having problems do what caldwell suggests and what I did as it seems to have done the trick for me.

Yes, sadly I am also having this problem. I’ve gone through a dozen different keys and every one has given me the same problem.

I’m getting this now as well, and I am running 2.8.4. If I try to change to another ISBN I get an error message at the top of the page that is as follows:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /…/i-am-reading/includes/class.awsBooks.php on line 182

If I then check my site it will have only the progress bar with my page count showing as 0/0. OpenLibrary sort of works, but unfortunately they’re missing some books, and it doesn’t recognize the book I’m trying to read now. The funny thing is I get this error using the ISBN of the last book I read as well, even though I had no problems with that book at the time.

Well, since the release date was considered tentative, I would say it was delayed. Still, would have been nice if they had let us know.

Looks like using “compatibility mode” in IE8 renders the display normal again. Considering the authors site looks normal in IE8 regardless, I’m inclined to believe it has something to do with my theme.

I am using the plugin on my site updates/information page to display the latest changes to my site.

I guess. Still though, seems like it would be a pretty simple option to allows users to decide which tag to apply the description too, or just add it to both automatically. For now, yeah, I just add them manually.

I’m looking for something like this as well. No one I know uses IE and the other browsers do not show alt tags on mouse hover, only title tags. I would love to have the description show when someone hovers over the image rather than rely on captions, which just take up more space and add more clutter.

I’ve looked everywhere though and have found no means of doing this. If you’ve been able to find a plugin or some means of modifying the css or php to do this I’d love to know about it.
