“Enable automatic cleanup” is basically the main on/off switch for the plugin. When it’s enabled, Greek URL Guard will automatically create clean greeklish slugs and filenames for new content and uploads.
This setting is mainly there as a convenience, so the automatic cleanup can be paused at any time without having to deactivate the whole plugin.
