After 4+ days of no response and hours of study and trials with lots of errors, I finally have MailPoet sending emails as it should.

I believe the problem was that I was not using the proper capture Form or did not have the proper connection made between the Form and MailPoet.

Or maybe MailPoet was Suspended and MailPoet un-Suspended it with no notice. Whatever the reason, it does seem to be working again.

I am using Thrive Themes products, which I love. But I will say that the complexity of gettng Thrive Leads and MailPoet to work was NOT simple or easy for this ‘ol boy. I did look at the Thrive videos more than once. Finally, I believe they helped.

    I will mark this resolved.

    Thanks for the reply.

Now I need to come up with a quiz so I can use your plugin!

I DID go to the theme’s support page, long before I posted my review.

I even stated my reasons (see post above) why I did not seek help there.

    ****
A review is what the reviewer thinks of the product, right? I tried and tried to use it. I sought help from the author, whom I thought would be the best —and possibly only— source of help.

Although the author did answer promptly, for which I give an A+, he offered essentially NO help.

One purpose of reviews is to help others decide whether or not they wish to use the product. I wanted others who were considering it to know the issues I had with it so they, possibly, would not waste so much time.

I tried to keep it factual. And of course the opinions are mine alone.

Potential users can read it, then make their own decision as to whether or not it is something they want to use.

It sounds as if you figured out how to use it in 15 minutes. Do you plan to post instructions here or anyplace for the benefit of the 2k folks who have downloaded it? Do you care to Skype me (keitharden) and talk me through it?

    Thanks for the response, Jan.

Why didn’t you ask for assistance in the support forums?

    Here’s why:

    1. There were only two entries on the support forum.
    2. In both cases, the author replied “I rarely visit this site.”
    3. No members had offered help to those two, possibly because the number of downloads is only 2k+.

It isn’t that I’ve not tried to use this theme. I’ve probably spent two or three hours working on it, or looking for answers on the ‘net.

By the way, do you use it?

Thanks! I’ll take a look and see what I can learn!

Which file permission might be incorrect?

“class-wp-filesystem-direct.php” is 644 and its folder is 755. I believe those to be correct.

In trying to solve the problem, I did “loosen” the permissions. Same results. Frankly, I don’t think permissions are the problem —but then I haven’t been able to fix it, either!

    Thanks for the help.

Honestly, I can’t remember! I believe it is not.

I got busy with other things and drifted from this issue. One thing on my winter to-do list is to update all WP sites, so I’ll find out.

Since I don’t know, I’ll mark it Resolved and reopen later if need be.

No. It works fine on some sites on the same server.
I see no reason to believe it might be the host’s fault. Do you?

Whoops —now, some have prices, some don’t. I selected the default CSS; that might have done it. but only on one of my pages.

    the mystery continues.

Hmmm—three days and not a single response.

And I left a support ticket with the maker. Shortly after I posted this post, I got a response (after two days!) He said he could work on it within the next 24 hours. That was up a day ago.

I have concluded that the ARGWA Free Autoresponder has essentially zero support and apparently very few people using it.

I’ve looked for a free sequential autoresponder for several years. Found one from Ohio; its support seems to have disappeared. Found one from Singapore; it seems very complex.

Can you recommend a reasonably good and free sequential autoresponder, either for WP or not WP?

    Thanks,
    Keith

The gray headers and titles for categories can be edited in style.php, not style.css. (Yes, strange!)

I suspect the post background can be edited there also, but I really don’t know.

    This link might help: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/antisnews-colour-changes?replies=20

Strangely, style.css is not the place in which you can change the background color of the category labels in theme Antisnews.

The information which must be changed is in style.php!

I had the same problem. Last night, Govpatel graciously solved it.

    See this post: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/antisnews-colour-changes?replies=20

Actually, you have to change the code for several locations; you can’t set the color only one place and have it change all Category title backgrounds. Once you find one, you can find the others!

govpatel spent over one hour on IMing Skype tonight working to find the hidden code. Or, as he stated, “I had dig in haystack for needle that is hidden.”

    He was soooo correct!

    Govpatel, Thank You!

I do have Skype, by the way.

That’s correct. Several other people do, too, it appears.

I really appreciate the help you’re giving. Just disgusted and embarrassed that I can’t solve this puzzle myself.

Part of the problem, I think, might be that they hide a lot of the CSS from us —“protecting” us from that dirty old code, I suppose. (I’m speaking of the Appearance > Antisnews CSS Styling Tool>)
