OK – just to update…I just looked again and the posts are back. So I think it’s safe to say that they are disappearing and reappearing at random. Any suggestions for what I should do to fix this?

OK – maybe I should back up. I placed this in my theme to allow a trackback URL to be available after each post:

    <p>Trackback URL for this post: <?php trackback_url(); ?></p>

So now I have this appearing after each post:

Trackback URL for this post: (and then the URL)

What I really want is for it to say this:

Trackback URL for this post (and have “URL” be a hyperlink to the post).

    Does this make sense?

Can you tell me exactly where I should put that in the loop?

Moshu…please don’t take this the wrong way, but it really isn’t stupidity to not understand the way something works. It’s ignorance. And I am trying to understand.

Thanks for your help. I hope the links I supplied above are what is needed to figure this out.

    OK – that’s what I was hoping you’d say.

One more quick question, if I could? Is it possible that they were appearing NO FOLLOW because of my privacy setting being set to block my blog from coming up on search engines?

Here are copies of two recent entries that I’ve been told are NOFOLLOW by two different sites:

You know those bracelets that people who have hidden medical conditions wear? This site has a pretty decent selection of medical id bracelets. Anyone reading this who is in the situation of needing one of these bracelets…first, I’m so sorry…and second, this is probably a good place to buy one if you need to. They come in gold and sterling silver and have many different options to make them quite attractive.

When you go to a trade show (IF you go to a trade show…LOL) all those booths have to come from somewhere. This company provides and services trade show booths for companies that want to participate in trade shows. I never really thought about it before, but it makes sense. Those booths have to come from somewhere. This looks like a good option if you are in this situation. Check it out!

I don’t see that no follow code you posted, but I can’t ignore what I’m being told by these sites. =/

Thanks for the help guys…I assure you that I *AM* reading every word because I really need to understand this.

    My understanding:

NOFOLLOW: Links are blocked from being picked up by search engines.

DOFOLLOW: Links that search engines are able to detect.

I’ll back up a bit. One of the things I use my blog for is “blog payment” posts. I have been told several times by two different Blog Payers that my links IN MY ENTRIES are nofollow. Links in my comments is not an issue for me at all and I couldn’t care less about this.

Until today, I did not even understand what this meant. But now thanks to you, I’m getting there. I assume that the links I put in my sponsored posts need to be DOFOLLOW in order for them to be picked up by search engines. So, if WordPress does NOFOLLOW by default, I do need to know and understand how to manually go in and change this, if possible.

I can’t be the only person using their WordPress blog for blog payment posts. How do other people do this?

Thanks for your help and patience. I really, really appreciate your help!

DUH – I just stumbled across the privacy setting that blocks a blog from showing up on search engines. I changed mine to show up – is the no follow-do follow fix as simple as this?

I still need to know what to look for in the various themes to make sure I pick a do follow theme, too.

Thanks a MILLION for all your help!!!

Are you saying that since I changed my theme, my links are now “FOLLOW” links?

If so, one more question…how do I tell how the various themes are set so that if I change my theme again, I can make sure that my links continue to be follow links?

    TIA!
