Thanks Fathi, I have submitted again. I also got some advice on the ads (which were all above the fold) so have changed them.
Someone also suggested setting the tags as nofollow….is this something I should do?

Fathi, appreciate the response. I checked in webmaster tools and the sitemap was last submitted on Oct 25th so dont think resubmitting will help.
