I think this issue just resolved itself today when the actual page was launched, before we were using temporary domain for building the site. For the launch I was using another plug-in for the front page, now I tried reverting back to Video Background with no other changes at all, and it simply started working. And I much prefer this plug-in, thanks for that too!
