I request you create a test site and do the update from there so that there are no update issues with your live site.
However we have fixed all bugs currently with the plugin and we believe the new update is stable.
Please try updating from the staging site and let us know how this goes.

I’d request you to check whether there are any plugins installed that might be causing this. Or if the issue occurs in another theme as well.
Here is what you can do to check:
1. Please try switching to another theme, like Twenty Seventeen, and check whether the issue persists. If it works with another theme then this is your preferred theme issue.
2. Deactivate all plugins temporarily and see if that solves the problem. Then, activate the plugins one by one to see which plugin is causing the problem.
This is a general debugging process that all WordPress support teams perform to find 90% of the problems. Here is a video that explains the process. If you’re concerned the debugging process might break your website, you can take a quick backup of your website as explained in this video.

I’m not sure if I fully understood your question. Could you please provide more details of your requirement? If you could provide some screenshots, that would help greatly.
I’d like to let you know, we request screenshots as they really help us understand customer issues precisely and avoid confusion/misunderstanding. This makes it easier to understand, debug, and resolve an issue ASAP. In most cases, the written description leads us nowhere and we have to constantly ask for more details.
Though the screenshot requirement might not make any sense from your perspective, we request that only to serve our customers faster and better.

I am not reproducing this issue on my end, I have added a post grid on sidebar on my end and I am not seeing the gap as shown here:https://share.getcloudapp.com/GGuJBBYo.
I would request you send a short screencast on how you are reproducing this so that we can check whether we are missing something.
In the meantime, please be sure to regenerate the assets. We do this automatically after the plugin is updated, but just to be sure, go to “Spectra > Settings > Asset Generation > Regenerate Assets” and press the button.
Also, empty cache and hard reload while on the editor screen. Here’s how: https://share.bsf.io/2NumNvZ2.
