Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress already installed; must provide email addressI found out I had to install wordpress automatically through the fantastico panel. They don’t allow manual install. It worked.
My files were in the wrong place. Thanks for all your help. I’m new to working with my own hosting and have a steep learning curve ahead.
Thanks again,

In reply to: WordPress already installed; must provide email addressYes, that’s my URL, but I’m not sure I’ve got my files in the right place. I uploaded them through file manager and as far as I can see, the wordpress folder is under about 7 other folders at the same level as the cgi.bin folder. That one shows up along with the parent, but none of the others a visible on the page.
I’m calling HostGator to see what they have to say. I’m willing to bet my files are in the wrong place. I’ll let you know, so please don’t close this topic yet.

In reply to: WordPress already installed; must provide email addressI tried opening it with Firefox from HostGator File Manager, but it doesn’t execute. It just opens the text of the file in a new tab. I also tried opening in a new window and got the same result.
I set permission for user (me) to execute the file. What am I doing wrong?
I can’t get the readme.html file to execute from within HostGator either.
