It looks like you might still be on an older version despite updating. If the replace failed partway, the old vendor/composer files stay put, which is exactly what that error shows. The 1.9.86 zip has no myclabs reference anywhere, so that stack trace has to be coming from leftover 1.9.83 files. If you have shell access to the box you can try:

    grep -m1 “Version” plugins/postie/postie.php
    ls plugins/postie/vendor/composer/autoload_files.php

If the version says 1.9.86 but autoload_files.php exists, it’s stale files, since 1.9.86 doesn’t ship that file at all. The fix is to delete the folder outright and unzip fresh, rather than installing over the top.

    Hope this helps.

1.9.86 confirmed working here. Pages load fine, Mail Protocol now
shows the correct protocol in use, and Process Email fetched and posted a test
    email. Thanks Wayne, appreciate it!

I’m marking this as resolved now, thanks again!

Roll back to 1.9.82 for the time being until a fix is issued. I had the same error with the Symfony CssSelector.

Same here on 1.9.82. Mail Protocol shows POP3 but my port is 995 and
it’s connecting POP3-SSL fine (test email fetched and posted).
So the dropdown isn’t reflecting the stored value, but the stored value
is correct and used. Looks cosmetic, send a test email to confirm.

Don’t use the Delete link in wp-admin. Deleting runs Postie’s uninstall
routine, which can wipe your settings.

    Easiest route, no FTP needed:

    1. Download 1.9.82: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/postie.1.9.82.zip
    2. Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the zip, Install Now
    3. WordPress will say the plugin is already installed. Choose
“Replace current with uploaded”. This swaps the files only,
      and your settings are kept.
    4. Activate.

Heads up: 1.9.84/1.9.85 fix the page-load fatal but email processing
still fails (missing Symfony CssSelector, see my reply above), so
1.9.82 is the one to use for now. Turn off auto-updates for Postie
so it doesn’t jump back. 🙂

1.9.85 installs fine but email processing fails:

fetch_mail message error: Unable to filter with a CSS selector as the
Symfony CssSelector 2.8+ is not installed (you can use filterXPath instead). 0 …/postie/vendor/voku/simple_html_dom/src/voku/helper/HtmlDomParser.php(529):

    voku\helper\SelectorConverter::toXPath() 1 …/postie/postie-filters.php(192): voku\helper\HtmlDomParser->find() 2 …/postie/postie-message.php(32): filter_CleanHtml()

voku/simple_html_dom’s find() needs symfony/css-selector, which isn’t in the
package. 1.9.84 and 1.9.85 are both affected. Rolled back to 1.9.82 again for now.
