That was it indeed.
But finally I’m using it horizontaly 🙂
Oh and the unnecessary styling is gone now

Anyway i found the solution. I overlooked at http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/get_links_list the place where links.php was in: wp-includes/links.php
I assumed it was a theme issue. But it had to be found in WP includes.
I changed in line 549 and 561 the ‘li’ into ‘div’, and then my problem was solved.
