Could you please go to CompressX settings, select the ‘GD’ and ‘Picture tag’ options, and then start bulk processing the images? After that, let us know if they load in WebP or AVIF format.
Should the problem continue, send us the debug information from the plugin page for our review. It’s important to double-check your email address to ensure we can reach you.

Hi @juanyi
We’ve reviewed your request regarding changing the NextGen directory. Since this change impacts CompressX rewrite rules and is crucial for stability, we’d appreciate more details about your specific scenario:
- How are you currently defining the uploads directory to a new location (e.g., via a third-party tool, custom code)?
- How does the subdomain interact with (or access) this new uploads directory?
Any additional configuration details would be very helpful.
Thanks,
All the best,

Hello @juanyi
It is currently not possible to specify the nextgen directory.
Would you let us know why you want to specify it?
All the best,
Hello,
Do you mean that the conversion was successful, but the WebP/AVIF format isn’t displaying?
If so, you can first follow steps in thisΒ docΒ to check whether WebP/AVIF takes effective.
If that does not resolve the issue, it would be helpful for us to further identify the issue if you could send us a debug zip to john(at)compressx.io. You can get the debug zip from your website > CompressX > System Info. When doing that, please also include a link to this thread to help track the issue.
