When you generate an alt text, the AI looks at the image itself and also checks where it is used on your website. If it finds the image on a page, it uses the surrounding page content to better understand the context. The existing media title and alt text are included as additional clues.
The AI then creates several versions with different lengths. neoAlt selects the most detailed one that stays within 125 characters. The language is taken from the page content or from the language configured in the neoAI settings. If you generate another suggestion, the previous result is excluded so that the AI tries a different wording.
The image, prompt, and available page context are sent to the configured AI provider. When using the free neoAI provider, this happens through neoAI and OpenAI, and a confirmation dialog is shown before the first request.
