Thanx, I solved it by using just one NAME field and it works perfectly. Used a separate plugin to disable the website field in the standard comment form.

Hello Harish, I’m thankful you got back to me anyway 🙂
    OK, so I gather that:
    a) There is not an easy way to change the fields displayed in the Comment form (not a plugin functionality, but WP functionality)
    b) There’s no mechanism (yet) to link fields in the Comment Form to links known within the MailChimp-for-wp plugin

Then I guess, I will just disable that option for now, thank you!

Hi Aerin, sorry for not being clearer:

    * The shortcode itself is correct ([qemcalendar]), it is the label or dutch translation in the Settings>Calendar page that indicates [qemcalender]
    * maybe I am expecting the wrong thing: which ‘read more’ should disappear? I am looking at the ‘read more’ below an event in the widget.
    * Can’t just compare url with hosted domain name?
    * What I mean is that the ‘show map’ checkbox is in the same line as the checkboxes to show the address in an event itself or the event list. To me, that suggests that the map will only be shown in the event or event list if the respective tick box is checked. In reality, the map will show in both the event and the event list, regardless whether I choose to show or hide the address for event/event list with the two tick boxes on the left.
The ‘show map’ tick box, thus functions as a separate option.

For now, all I can do is support you with kind words and suggestions for improvement. Sorry.

I like your visual improvements for the feedback to the user you implemented in 6.6, by the way!

Hi Aerin, thanks for your ongoing work. I updated to 6.6 and found the following fixed/not fixed:
    * NOT FIXED At least in dutch, the shortcode [qemcalender] (Settings>Calendar) should be written as [qemcalendar]
    * NOT FIXED The option “Hide ‘Read More’ link” (Settings>Event Display; forgive me if wrong, I work in dutch translation) doesn’t actually hide the link.
    * NOT FIXED Option “Open external link in new tab/window” (Settings>Event Display) will also do that for internal links (used http://mydomain.com).
    * NOT FIXED When “Show Map” (Settings>Event Settings) is enabled, the map will be shown in both the event page and the event list widget, regardless of how the tick boxes are configured to control that behavior.
    * FIXED The option “Not present” (“not attending”?) (Settings>Registration) will not register a value (when one looks under the event under Events>Registrations, the column for this option is empty).
    * FIXED The option to show the registration form on the right, below the picture or map (Settings>Registration) will also show it in the event list widget, messing up the lay-out in most themes.
    * NOT FIXED Feature request: A user registering for an event should have the choice to either fill in number of people attending OR “will not attend”(configured under Settings>Registration), whereas both are shown now at the same time.
    * NOT FIXED Feature request: When someone has already registered before, his new registration is bounced regardless whether the values are updated (e.g. taking 2 people instead of 1). User should be presented with his data entered and allowed to change it or unsubscribe.

Great, I sent an e-mail, I’ll be happy to help testing. It’s the least I can do for you!

On another note, I noticed a need from several questions from users on your website that are looking for mailing list functionality, that I myself also seek (feature request!).
QEM contains a reporting page and the extensions plugin. Both provide useful functionality, but not in case you want to inform people that have been in touch in the past that a new event is upcoming.
In this case one would want a ‘sign-up for my newsletter/mailing list’ functionality, both a checkbox within event registration as well as a function on itself (in case somebody isn’t able to attend an event but does want to be informed about future events). Possibly linked to a mailchimp account or so.

Should you ever entertain to program that functionality, maybe the RSVPmaker ChimpBlast extension contains some useful code to implement it.

On another note, Quick Event Manager does have a reporting page which can be exported to csv-file (this can be your input for a mailing list).
On top of that I found that there is an extensions plugin available that is still in testing. As long as it is in testing it is free: https://quick-plugins.com/quick-event-manager/quick-event-manager-extensions/

QEM Extensions gives you several other report formats including the possibility of mailing all participants of certain events directly from WordPress.

Functionality to sign up for a mailinglist is not included however, so still not ideal.

I found RSVPmaker not so configurable as I had wanted.

For now I settled displaying a general calendar with CalPress Calendar and I handle events with Quick Event Manager.
The latter has quite some configuration options and a beautiful widget.
The only drawback for now is that I don’t know how to integrate it with a mailing list (people can subscribe for an event, but their information is only in the event, no option to include this data in a general mailing list).

    I’m still open to suggestions!

Thank you so much Mike! Everything seems to work fine now. Then apparently the provider updated the php version, though I don’t remember any announcement on that.
    You’re awesome!

Thank you very much Mike, for your offer. You’ll receive an e-mail very soon with user credentials.

I made a fresh install of wordpress (including fresh .htaccess), installed the WPGforms plugin, installed the SEO plugin from Yoast and made a change to the permalink settings. Same error.
It has worked before after installing the Yoast plugin, so my guess is a conflict with the permalinks or something totally different… but how to find out what is wrong?
None of the permalink settings give a solution.

If you would be willing to analyze what is wrong (I’ll give a login account), I’ll be very happy. But if you give up on me I also understand.

I just removed the plugin and installed the beta version. No joy. The strange thing is that everything did work after installing it for the first time…

the changes I made was that I made the website in the folder ‘blog’ available from root and also implemented a rule in order to rewrite http://www.domain.com to domain.com

Hi Mike, I tried disabling all plugins, re-saved permalink settings, then also changed to default twenty-eleven theme, re-saved permalink settings. No joy.
The standard theme does have full functional icons while my child theme doesn’t.
By the way… does the child theme have to be INSIDE the directory of the parent theme or on the same level? (I now have it on the same level).

I did not yet try the beta version.

    Thank you for your reply.
I did re-save the permalink settings, to no avail.

There are some other minor issues on the website that might be related (comment icon is not displayed).
I created a child theme, by the way.

So you’re suggesting that the problem I have is not wpgform related but another cause that happens to also affect Google forms?
