Thanks for your help ericdaams that’s solved the problem. It did sound as if it might be css issue after realising it worked in IE and not firefox, I used position:relative; to fix double margin in IE6.

OK I’ve restored to backup of database before I made the changes the and also run
UPDATE newprefix_usermeta SET meta_key = REPLACE( meta_key , ‘oldprefix_’, ‘newprefix_’ );
and still no joy any thoughts would be appreciated

since noticed the widget links work in IE but not firefox or chrome
