All set now Chad, your final two paragraphs got us right where we needed to go. Issue was (like you said) in the functions.php of the theme. The filter/redirect options were in both the style and functions files so we commented them out so the change we made in the plugin’s widget config to redirect after login is working now. Thanks for everything and I’m planning on upgrading to the Premium version soon, your plug in is a huge help.
Thanks again for the insight. Understood on your treatment of premium features and I rashly equated the preventing access of the dashboard to what I actually need here. Just looking for them to stay on the same page that the WP-Members log-in widget exists on so I won’t look too much into that aspect. I will dig into your final two paragraphs and see if I can track my errors there.
I’m thinking it’s this one?
Redirect Dashboard to Home page for subscribers
This feature is often requested with the hide toolbar feature. When this setting is enabled, subscribers will be denied access to the WP dashboard (sometimes referred to as the “WP admin area” or “backend”). Similar to the toolbar setting, this is only for subscribers. Higher role users such as editors or admins will still have access. User capability required for dashboard access as “edit_posts”. This can be filtered with wpmem_adv_dashboard_capability.The problem is that users used to be able to simply stay on the page where the log-in widget is located but now they are forced to the dashboard and have to click Back on the browser and refresh the page in order to ‘stay’ where they need to be. Any thoughts on that?
Chad perhaps the functionality I’m looking for was removed in an earlier update and now is one of the premium options? I’ve got my plug ins set to auto-update and I can’t be 100% sure but it looks like maybe a recent update had something to do with the ability to direct members away from the dashboard?

I’m happy to pay if necessary, just trying to be sure.
I have about 40 plug ins running and I deactivated all of them except for WP-Members and it still sent me to the admin dashboard instead of the ‘usual’ list of video links like it did before. I don’t know what else I could have hooked but perhaps I missed something in the editor.
Thanks for the input Chad. Marked as Resolved since I goofed and made a duplicate post so I was trying to make one less relevant but I really appreciate the suggestion. Will check that out.
