Unfortunately I spoke to my host today, and without having to pay them another $1,000 for subscription, they will not grant me access to any of my data. I have until tonight to make my decision, otherwise, they will delete my account! In fact, by this time, I know they already did.

It has been a complete mess for me, and though I foolishly signed a contract with them, I still see them in the wrong. Signing up with them has resulted in nothing but scamming money out of me. I’ve already paid $2,000 (which I never authorized them to do in the first place), but that amount should have me covered (at UNLIMITED service) until January of 2011. It has been quite ridiculous what they’ve put me through, but all I want to do is just put that all in the past and move on. The only thing holding me back is my precious memories. I want all those back.

I have all my photos backed up (in 2 or 3 different locations), but my blog posts, I do not…or, at least, I’m not quite sure. In reading both your replies (which I thank you very very much), I remembered trying to backup my database a couple of months ago when I was trying to upgrade my wordpress version. I’m not the most computer savvy, but I try. Right now, I’m just confused if I, in fact, did it right and actually saved all the right kinds of data.

I was wondering, is there a hotline or some sort of wordpress professional I can call and speak to to help guide me through this?
