Nevermind, I found a suitable work around for question #1.
As far as question #2, I suppose it comes with the territory.
I’ve solved question #3 pertaining to disabling comments on pages. So, please disregard that question.

In reply to: Sidebar moved to the bottom in childthemeNo, I’ve check it in three browsers (IE, Chrome, and Firefox) and it’s all the way down on the right when it’s suppose to be up level with the blog post.
Are you saying it looks like the demo image (http://my.studiopress.com/themes/goinggreen/#demo-full)?
Because for me the Contemplative Monk page has the sidebar done level with the next page option on the demo.
