As follow up, I found out that my website host, Midphase, has a setting which was turned on to auto update plugins, which supercedes the WP settings. Their admin turned it off.
Problem solved.
I am experiencing the same problem. No clue why Support Candy is refreshing every night after I restore an older version. If you find the reason, please post here.
