I was able to resolve this by doing a manual re-install of an earlier version (2.06) then upgrading to the most current version (2.2)

Still don’t know what happened, but glad the issue is resolved.

Hi Dalton,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I had a 1 px border set in the theme for images and when I unchecked that option the border around the thumbnails went away. It was strange, though, that the border was so thick, much wider than the 1 px.
