Hi @zillacart,
Any update on the issue you reported and see if the latest version resolved it?
ThanksHI @zillacart,
Can you please check if the recent update fixed the issue mentioned by you?
ThanksHi Zillacart,
We’ve taken your request into account and will release a new version soon with this feature. Also can you please report your findings for the other threads you opened based on the recent updates and check if it’s resolved?
Thank youHi,
Quick update: the fixes we mentioned are now out. Please update Unwan to 1.0.8 from your WordPress dashboard.
What changed for the issues you reported:
- Custom fields at checkout: Unwan no longer hides fields added by your checkout field editor. When a saved address is selected, only the standard address rows are collapsed.
- Required fields: if your store requires a field that a saved address doesn’t have (for example phone, company or a VAT number), that field now stays visible so the customer can fill it in. The order is never blocked by a hidden field.
- “Please choose a valid saved address”: this error no longer appears for customers with no saved addresses, or on checkout pages built with page builders.
- My Account address form: it now shows only the standard address fields Unwan saves, so a required custom field can’t stop an address from saving.
The update also includes fixes for local pickup, virtual products, page reloads and failed payments.
Could you test it on your store with your field editor, on both a saved address and a new one, and let us know how it goes? If anything looks off, a screenshot and the steps to reproduce it would help a lot.
More detail is in our docs: https://docs.smartwpplugins.com/unwan/checkout/checkout-overview#custom-checkout-fields
Thanks again for your detailed reports.
Hi Zillacart,
Thanks for the suggestion. In Unwan, managing saved addresses—including editing and deleting them—is handled through the address book in My Account. We want to keep checkout focused on completing the order, so we don’t currently plan to add address management there.
The aim of Unwan is to provide a simple, unified address book. Based on your other requests, it sounds like you may need more extensive features, including separate sets of shipping and billing addresses, which this plugin doesn’t currently support. Other free and premium address book plugins may be a better fit for your needs.
We’re keeping the core feature set small and focused, with developer hooks available for custom extensions.
We’ll keep your request in mind and revisit it if more users express a need for this feature.Regards,

In reply to: [Unwan – Multiple Address Book for WooCommerce] add : Address aliasHi Zillacart,
Thanks for the suggestion. We don’t currently plan to add address aliases, labels, or tags. The aim of Unwan is to provide a simple, unified address book.

JeetThank you for testing Unwan so carefully, and for the detailed reports.
A note on what Unwan is designed for: most multi-address plugins keep two separate lists, one for billing and one for shipping. Unwan keeps one address book, where any saved address can be used for billing, shipping, or both.
Unwan is built to manage the standard WooCommerce address: name, company, address, city, state, postcode, country, and phone. Custom fields from checkout field editors are built around billing or shipping only, so they stay with your field editor rather than in the Unwan address book. This is by design.
At checkout, your custom fields work as usual. WooCommerce and your field editor show them, and Unwan does not change them.
Here is what we are fixing in the next update:
Custom fields hidden at checkout: When a customer chose a saved address, Unwan also hid your custom fields by mistake. This is fixed. Unwan no longer touches them.
Checkout blocked with an empty address book: If a customer had no saved addresses, checkout asked them to choose one that did not exist. This is fixed. They can now enter an address and place the order.
Custom fields in the My Account address form: Some custom fields appeared in the “add address” form, but they were never saved. A required one could even stop the address from saving. This is fixed. The form now shows the standard address fields only.
One more note: fields added to the Billing section of your field editor always appear in the checkout billing form. WooCommerce does this itself, with or without Unwan. If a field is meant only for registration, please move it out of the Billing section in the field editor.Thank you again. Your reports help make Unwan better for everyone.
