At the end it helped. Deactivated all plugins and reactivated all of them, it worked.

Afterwards I tried with a copy from before, where it didn’t work … and it only needed deactivating NextGen Gallery and reactivating it. Does this still mean, that it is a conflict with one of the other plugins?
