Thank you for using Custom Sidebars. Could you possibly share a link to your site and share a screenshot of your settings so we can troubleshoot this further? Also, if you can share the link to the dozens of threads you found that we have not responded to? We are only showing 5 open tickets at the moment including this thread. Thank you for the feedback @ade11. I will pass this along to the development for review and get back to you if I get some follow-up information.
Smush will allow you to set a max size and width but does not have an option for creating images to an exact dimension. Croping images to match specific theme containers is still somthing that is best done manually. We are looking at options for the future but this is not currently available. I will share your feedback with the development team.
