In reply to: Cancelled Hosting and WordPress Account DisappearedShort answer: yes.
Qualified answer: you could try to ask your old host to let you download your old files and database, but since your account is cancelled the chance that they still exist is slim.

In reply to: Migrating to new host, can't log inWhen you set WP up on the new host, did you enter the temporary url or your main domain name? If you entered the main domain url, then you have to change it to the temporary one in order to get to the new site, since you haven’t changed your nameservers yet.
There are a number of ways to change the url without access to the Dashboard:

In reply to: Upgrade to 3.5 emptied Media Library and Uploads foldersThe upgrade was an automatic one through my host, DreamHost. Their support folks are pointing the finger at WordPress.
The media files exist in the backup, but not in the upgraded site. And yes, I checked the actual server.

In reply to: Upgraded to 3.5, Media Library empty, images not showingI am having this exact problem with a new 3.5 upgrade — most of the images in my upload folders were not transferred to the upgraded site, and they have disappeared from the Media Library as well.
This issue is not addressed on the Master List, and the post linked above to the problem someone had with 3.42 is NOT relevant.
The problem is not from my hosting, either, nor is it javascript. The files are GONE, and the Media Library is practically empty. (Yes, I have a backup, but that doesn’t fix the Library issue.)
Any help?

In reply to: Add existing images on server to Media LibraryI have found that plugin to be slower than slow, and it will only process 5 images at a time, otherwise it times out and fails.
Importing just the main image, not all of the sizes, has worked fine, just a very slow process to manually pick them out of the list 5 at a time.
Any other suggestions for how to get images registered in the library from a folder on the server? The recent update to 3.5 lost a bunch of my uploads, so I’m dealing with a couple hundred files.
Thank you!!
